This page will get a more thorough breakdown of HostHelper with screenshots at a later date. If you'd like to help set up the text for this page after exploring the app please reach out. I recommend clicking through the tabs in HostHelper as you read through this page!
What Host Helper Does
HostHelper is the companion app to Super Dodo Terminal. It handles your website, user accounts, DodoBuilder site generation, and custom theme uploading. It also brings multiple hosts together into a shared hub, with an optional unified Discord bot. This is the backbone of the suite, whether you use The Dodo Way website theme or not.
HostHelper and all of its features are FREE for your enjoyment.
You can optionally include your website in the Dodo site directory. See Accounts & Central Database for what the player directory gives your visitors.
Tabs
Islands
All islands are shown here, if you're in team mode and you're the Hub Host, you can see all of your team members connected islands here too. You cannot operate anything from here; this is a read-only view to confirm that team island aggregation is working.
Activity
Half-working activity log that currently is semi-useless but in the near future will offer the HubHost a quick view at numerous things.
Host Modes
This is where you determine if you're editing a Team website, or a Solo website.
Solo Mode
If you haven't checkmarked Website Team Mode, then you're by default in "Solo Mode". You can run a solo website separately from being a Hub Host for a team website, or from being a team member on someone else's team website.
Website Team Mode
You only need to turn team mode on here if YOU are a team lead, YOU own the domain and YOU are maintaining the team website. Team members can use a toggle in SDT to indicate whether they're editing Team or Solo settings when they set up each individual island, they don't have to open HostHelper to change edit modes. You can use the toggle in SDT to quick edit island info for each of your Dodo Sites but you must change the Host Mode in HostHelper to generate the websites.
You can have two entirely different websites for Team mode and Solo mode, but displaying the same islands. Both websites SHARE your islands, queue, order, and villager request systems work together/automatically merge in SDT. SDT handles communicating back to the correct website and player when it's their turn. For more information about how to create a Dodo Site visit here.
This includes support for separate subscription offerings for a solo site vs a team site. You can also choose to use the same subscription offerings for both modes for easier/quicker setup. Each mode still uses the same PayPal credentials, you just set up additional plans and chosoe which mode (team/solo) it belonds to.
Discord Team Mode
You only need to turn team mode on here if YOU are a team lead, YOU own the domain and YOU are maintaining the team website.
Website Server
This is where you build and manage your Dodo site, and manage player accounts.
- Shows all currently connected islands.
- The Meat and Potatoes. Click Open DodoBuilder to access the in-app website builder. Visit this page for a walkthrough.
- Account & Ban Management. Moderate accounts, send messages over the website, and more.
Discord Server Setup
Discord Server Setup does not replace the website; there is no order or villager request support. Limited number of commands available, may consider adding further support if it's requested.
Dodo Codes do not get sent over Discord. Bots share the website link for the island in its channel on a loop. You can customize the messages sent.
Dodo Codes are only accessible through the website, this lowers the risk of code leaks and unwanted visitors.
SDT lets you enter your settings, messages, and more, so each island has its own channel with custom messages/pictures for announcing when the island is open.
HostHelper aggregates this information (including from team members when enabled) to communicate to Discord.
Inside the setup panel you can also enable a unified bot, this lets you use ONE bot to communicate in ALL of your individual island channels instead of needing a bot per island, this also works for Team Members aggregation.
Team members: If you're a team member and are part of a Team Discord, ask your HubHost if they setup a unified bot or if you need to set up individual bots.
If you need Discord support added for something specific please reach out, I would love to further evolve this support in a way that makes sense for hosts that rely on Discord :)

What Host Helper Does
HostHelper is the companion app to Super Dodo Terminal.
For transparency, this app is licensed under EULA and is closed source. Why? Primarily the website building tools and directory systems, if HostHelper were open sourced there would be less control over how the website themes it generates are used.
HostHelper handles your website, user accounts, DodoBuilder site generation, and custom theme uploading. It also brings multiple hosts together into a shared hub, with an optional unified Discord bot. This is the backbone of the suite, whether you use The Dodo Way website theme or not.
If you use The Dodo Way theme you must keep the Dodo Player directory opt-in options. The only way to skip offering the Dodo Player directory opt-in is to create a custom site to be served instead of The Dodo Way or another HostHelper-provided theme.
HostHelper and all of its features are FREE for your enjoyment. Please do not try to bypass the limited restrictions. :)
The Dodo Way prioritizes end-player experiences. This means giving them an easy way to see Dodo Sites they're signed up on, and a directory of all Dodo Sites.
In return, YOU, the host, are rewarded for this glorious end-player experience by having the easiest and smoothest possible set up for YOUR hosting experience!
HostHelper periodically verifies the integrity of The Dodo Way theme files and will restore required elements if they've been modified.
